Aug 27, 2023Malaysia Gets Its First Regional Cuban
If you find yourself in Malaysia and have a spare $56 to spend on a Cuban cigar, pick up the San Cristobal de La Habana Harimau Malaya, a Regional Edition cigar made exclusively for the Southeast Asian country. It’s Malaysia’s first Regional smoke and measures 5 1/8 inches by 55 ring gauge, which is the same size as the Romeo y Julieta Wide Churchill (known as Montescos in Cuban cigar factories).
The Harimau Malayas come in boxes of 10 and retail for HK$438 each, or about $56. Only 8,888 boxes were produced. Although launched yesterday, this cigar is technically a 2020 release, and named after the Malayan tiger, which is depicted on the protective outer box.
The cigars are distributed by Pacific Cigar Co. Ltd., which covers most of Southeast Asia, including Hong Kong, Japan, Cambodia, North and South Korea, Vietnam, New Zealand and Australia.
